Italian Student Visa Process

Important Upcoming Dates
Attending a visa information session is mandatory for program participation. Both info session will provide the same information.
Italy Visa Info Session:
Tuesday, March 26, 2024 (3:00pm in ZSR Library Auditorium)

Batch Submission Days:
- Tuesday, April 16th - Last names A-F only
- Wednesday, April 17th - Last names G-O only
- Thursday, April 18th - Last names P-Z only
How to Apply:
Option 1: Batch Processing through WFU:
1. Make sure your passport is valid. If it is not, let your advisor know ASAP.
2. Attend a visa meeting.
3. Prepare your documentation for Visa Submission Days.
4. Submit your documents to the GPS Office on Visa Submission Days.
5. After processing, your passport (with the visa stamp inside) will be mailed to an address of your choice.

For students participating in the Fall 2024 Syracuse University/Florence program, your visa batch option will be through Syracuse University.
- Keep an eye on your email for the virtual information session that they will host in March.
- Their batch processing dates will be April 11 and April 12, 2024. Further details will be communicated from Syracuse University
Option 2: Students applying on their own:
1. Make sure your passport is valid. If it is not, let your advisor know ASAP.
2. Attend a visa meeting.
3. Prepare your documentation for submission. You can meet with an advisor for them to review your documentation prior to mailing it in.
4. Mail all documents to the consulate.
5. After processing, your passport (with the visa stamp inside) will be mailed to an address of your choice.

Q. Is there a way to expedite my visa application to receive it earlier?
A. No. None of the Consulates offer an expedited option, nor will they provide a status of your application. If you need your passport back by a certain date, our suggestion is to submit your visa application as soon as it is allowed to do so.

A. The Italian Consulate ONLY accepts money orders from USPS (also known as postal money orders). These are found in most post offices. The WFU post office on-campus does not create money orders. See below on how to fill-in your money order.
